The OneUptonNetwork is responsible for managing and maintaining Upton's life-saving Community Defibrillator, housed within our Telephone Kiosk, which was adopted from BT back in 2019. We are responsible for carrying out weekly checks on the equipment, to make sure it's ready for use at a moment's notice and that it is safe to use and easily accessible. We also provide awareness and training sessions to all Upton Residents, to ensure villagers are confident with using the equipment.
Our Defibrillator is free to use in an emergency, to access the equipment, dial 999 and ask for an ambulance, the operator will then give you the code and tell you to retrieve the defibrillator if needed and have a second person with you. If you've already been given the combination code to the cabinet by a member of our team, you must not share it with anyone outside of your household. If you'd like to request the code for exceptional circumstances, such as an ill or elderly relative, you can contact the team to request the code.
Representatives from The OneUptonNetwork will be responsible for ensuring that the Defibrillator, Cabinet and Telephone Kiosk are kept in a good working order, however, between our weekly inspections, issues may arise that we're not aware about. Please report any issues to our Defibrillator Management Team by contacting: upton.defibrillator@oneupton.org
We'd like to say a massive Thank You to our Project Funders, National Highways and The Earl Fitzwilliam Charitable Trust for their generous support towards our Fundraising Project! As well as to the Upton Villagers who contributed towards the project with their donations!
