Thank you for taking the time to read & complete this Consultation. This Consultation Closes at: 4:30pm on Thursday, February 5th 2026. Please respond to this Consultation by using the contact details listed below.
We've released our initial plans for our NEW Village Gateway Planters & Signage. We've drawn-up some initial designs which we're now ready to share with the community.
The planters will be created using upcycled Tractor Tyres and the signage will be constructed from sustainably sourced Oak, to be in keeping with our rural farming landscape. The Speed Limit signage will also be incorporated with the planters, repositioned on slightly shorter, black sign poles, to look less modern and intrusive on the landscape. A NEW 'Welcome to Upton' sign will take pride of place within a larger planter, along with a 'Thank you for Driving Carefully' sign on the reverse, thanking drivers for driving safely.
The Planters will then be planted up with a selection of colourful flowers/shrubs, chosen by our team. We'll also create a NEW group, 'Upton in Bloom', a small team of volunteers to help us care for our planters in the years to come.
These computer generated images give you a rough idea of what our village entrances could look like in a few months time.
How to Respond: To respond to this consultation, please send your feedback to: hello@oneupton.org before February 5th 2026.
The OneUptonNetwork is committed to delivering projects & work that maintain and improve our village as one of our key deliverables in our constitution. This project not only improves our community, but offers volunteering opportunities to all members of the community, encouraging them to get out the house, meet up with neighbours and engage in social activity while giving back to the community, meeting two more of our key deliverables.
The benefit of us carrying out this project is that once delivered it will improve the appearance of our community, offer volunteering opportunities to members of the community, offer visitors better information and make our village safer.
Once this consultation has closed, we'll finalise our designs and move forward to the delivery stage. Once agreed with the local authority, we'll lift our planters into place and start filling them up with soil and we'll install our new signage. Once this is all done, our team will start planting and carry out some finishing touches, before announcing the project's completion.
We need to hear your feedback by 4:30pm on Thursday, February 5th 2026. Please email us your feedback to: hello@oneupton.org before our deadline, and if you'd like to get involved with this project, let us know!
