LED Lighting is helping people save electricity all over the world! That's why we've made the 'Church LED Lighting Upgrade Scheme' available to Church Wardens to upgrade existing lighting in the church to LEDs by 2023. An LED bulb has the potential to last between 25 and 40 years and will use about 90% less energy compared to a similar incandescent bulb, this will offer the church a reduction in electricity bills, allowing more money to be spent on repairs, supplies and other running costs.
That's why we're lobbying our Church Wardens to take up our offer to fully upgrade the church's existing lighting to LEDs, including replacing outdoor lighting, by working together to raise the funds needed to buy new LED Light Bulbs and outdoor lighting.
LED Bulbs are free of all harsh chemicals and gases found in normal bulbs such as argon and nitrogen, they also don't emit UV rays and are 100% recyclable. LEDs can significantly reduce the church's Carbon Footprint. One LED Bulb will outlive roughly 25 incandescent light bulbs over its lifetime and they also help save on materials and production costs.
We've estimated that this project will cost around £850 to complete. Funding will be provided jointly by Upton Council, donors and Church Wardens
We'll be completing this project in 2 Phases, with Phase 1 being focused on the replacement of outdoor filament lighting upgraded to new LED Lighting
