Hello There, the Upton Social Walking Group is a NEW activitiy in Upton, quickly becoming popular with residents. The group meet once a month to walk around our Woodlands & Countryside, then return to the church for Coffee and Cake afterwards. All are welcome to attend and the event is FREE to participate in. Donations towards event costs are greatly appreciated and help us to provide events and activities like these in the future.
Our Next Walk will be held on: SUNDAY, February 11th @ 10:15AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Upton.

We strongly recommend that you dress appropriately for our Social Walk Sessions as the weather can be unpredictable and can change at a moments notice. This means you should wear sturdy footwear and bring a coat, you may not need it, but it's always best to bring one.
In the colder months, we suggest wrapping up in warm clothing as the cold weather can be harsh. You may also want to bring an umbrella if rain is forecast. You're also welcome to bring dogs along with you, though they MUST be well-behaved and remain on a lead at all times.

Our walking routes will vary each month, we rotate our routes to allow our visitors to see the best areas at the best time of year. We may need to adapt or change our route depending on the weather, this could be due to high winds, previous heavy rainfall, path suitability or dangerous trees.
Participants will be informed at the start of the event regarding any last minute route changes, please be assured route changes and alterations are only made to maintain visitor safety, this could be, for example, to avoid a dangerous area of woodland or a slippy path!

We offer a variety of different refreshment options at our Social Walking Group Sessions, depending on the different time of year. Between November and April, we'll have different hot/cold drinks and soup available and from May through till October, we'll have hot/cold drinks with a selection of cakes available!
Our Refreshments are served when we return from our walk at around 12:30, while our refreshments are FREE, we do ask that you make a donation if you can, as preparing them does cost us and all donations will help us run future events like these ones!

Our walks will go ahead in all-weathers, well... almost! While we try to run as many of our events as usual, sometimes the weather can get in the way. We may cancel a social walk if the weather will not allow for us to conduct our operations safely. A walk may be cancelled due to heavy rainfall, prolonged rainfall, extreme heat, strong winds
We'll always try to go-ahead with our walks if its snowing, as everyone loves snow! An event hosted by The OneUptonNetwork will be cancelled no later than 24 hours due to poor weather, based on the latest weather forecast report.
